BIO



Trope is an alternative rock band with progressive elements featuring vocalist Diana Studenberg and guitarist/producer Moonhead. The band formed in 2016 and spent the next couple of years writing and recording demos which became their debut album "Eleutheromania". They garnered the attention of the music industry including Mike Fraser (ACDC, Metallica) who agreed to engineer the album. David Bottrill (Tool, Peter Gabriel) also expressed interest and agreed to creatively consult and mix the album, and Ted Jensen (Alice In Chains, Pantera, Stone Temple Pilots) joined the team as mastering engineer.


Trope are currently working on their follow up album ‘Dyad’ which will feature some special guests including Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree) and Gunnar Olsen (Puscifer, A Perfect Circle.


In 2022, Trope toured Europe on a 26 date tour in 15 countries supporting The Pineapple Thief and also played 6 shows with The Pineapple Thief in US in April 2022, before embarking on a USA tour with Symphony X and Haken, for 27 dates in May 2022. The band also played with Kings X in the US, and played select festivals including Maximum Rock Romania and Summerfest in the US. In 2024, Trope will be playing select dates with Kings X and embarking on a 25 date US tour with Swedish Prog Metal group Soen. Trope also have more dates with Kings X in Summer 2024 in the US and a 26 date European tour with Soen in Fall of 2024.


With musical contributions from some of the worlds best musicians including drummers Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree), bassist Tony Franklin (The Firm, Kate Bush) and Gunnar Olsen (Puscifer, A Perfect Circle) and more, Trope’s sophomore double album Dyad is set for release in 2025/2026.
